This book was given to my kids and I when they were quite young。 My oldest fell in love with it and carried it around everywhere。 It became our "go to" book when we were feeling down and needed a pick me up, the poems were fun, silly, rhyming and offered some great insights into problems as well as teaching a few cool lessons。 I recommend this book as a wonderful bedtime reader as it teaches great literacy with the rhyming momentums。 Wonderful book! I started reading Shel in elementary school and 'A Light in the Attic' and 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' were probably my most checked out books。 As an adult, I've started collecting his books and this is one I hadn't read。 Some things seem boring to my adult brain, but other things hit it the way they wouldn't a child's。 I love Shel's work so much。 Never outgrow silliness。 💗 I started reading Shel in elementary school and 'A Light in the Attic' and 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' were probably my most checked out books。 As an adult, I've started collecting his books and this is one I hadn't read。 Some things seem boring to my adult brain, but other things hit it the way they wouldn't a child's。 I love Shel's work so much。 Never outgrow silliness。 💗 。。。more

So much fun。 I enjoyed this book as a kid and it is still funny as an adult。 Some things might be slightly dated but I felt like kids today would still find most of it funny and identifiable。

Where would my childhood have been without Shel Silverstein? I truly believe that without his books, I would not have been the same。

I love Shel Silverstein as an author。 I have since I was a child。 I was a little disappointed in this book。 I did not feel that the poems were of the caliber that are in Where the Sidewalk Ends。 Don't get me wrong-some of the poems are really good, but quite a few of them just didn't do it for me。 I love Shel Silverstein as an author。 I have since I was a child。 I was a little disappointed in this book。 I did not feel that the poems were of the caliber that are in Where the Sidewalk Ends。 Don't get me wrong-some of the poems are really good, but quite a few of them just didn't do it for me。 。。。more

Been reading a lot of Silverstein's stuff this year so far, and it's a cute lil pastime that makes me very happy but nothing really beats Where the Sidewalk Ends。 Been reading a lot of Silverstein's stuff this year so far, and it's a cute lil pastime that makes me very happy but nothing really beats Where the Sidewalk Ends。 。。。more

I used to read Shel Silverstein's books as a child and re-reading them today is so nostalgic。 These poems still hold up to this day and even reading them as an adult is still a fun and entertaining way just to find something to read。 My mom almost ten years later still loves and remembers most of the poems in this book from when I used to read them to her as a child。 I believe this book is good for children, as well as adults; if that's reading them with your child or just reading them on your o I used to read Shel Silverstein's books as a child and re-reading them today is so nostalgic。 These poems still hold up to this day and even reading them as an adult is still a fun and entertaining way just to find something to read。 My mom almost ten years later still loves and remembers most of the poems in this book from when I used to read them to her as a child。 I believe this book is good for children, as well as adults; if that's reading them with your child or just reading them on your own for fun。 I highly recommend this book, as well as all his other poetry books。 。。。more

I grew up reading this poetry book and other works by Shel Silverstein。 As an adult, the poetry is a good read and I feel like I interpreted them much differently as an adult than when I was a kid。 That is the good thing about poetry。 the meaning of it can change due to age。

Falling up is a children's poetry book that is targeted for young children, in elementary school。 I really enjoyed the childlike poems and it kind of reminded me of Where the Sidewalk Ends which makes sense since they are both written by Shel Silverstein。 My favorite poem is the Ickle me, Pickle me poem。 This book does not have too many illustrations, since it is a poetry book。 However, the illustrations that are in the book are very funny and children definitely love them! There are many more poems in this book, but all of them are very humorous and good stories。 This book is appealing to children in elementary school。 However, it does not just have to be read by children, adults such as myself, find it funny as well! 。。。more
